New Delhi: The political crisis in Maharashtra continued to escalate even as Eknath Shinde-led rebel MLAs, who were holed up in a Guwahati hotel, refused to return to Mumbai amid Shiv Sena’s offer. With Eknath Shinde’s rebellion, the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA government in Maharashtra is on the brink of collapse as rebel camp claimed it had 40 MLAs backing their decision.Also Read - Shiv Sena Ready To Exit MVA If Rebels MLAs..., Says Sanjay Raut; Congress, NCP RespondBharatshet Gogawale, a rebel Shiv Sena MLA, said all the rebel MLAs will support Eknath Shinde whatever decision he makes. “Whatever Eknath Shinde decides, we will support him. We have the support of 37 MLAs and 2-3 more MLAs,” Gogawale told Zee News. On the side of the mutinous lawmakers camping in Guwahati, the torch-bearer, Eknath Shinde has been “elected” as the breakaway group’s leader and authorised to take all decisions on their behalf.On being asked if Shinde camp will join hands with BJP, the rebel MLA assured that they are not going to join any other party but will continue to work under Sena’s banner and ideology. We are ready to consider your demand provided you come back to Mumbai in 24 hours and discuss the issue with CM Uddhav Thackeray. Your demand will be considered positively. Don’t write letters on Twitter and WhatsApp,” Sanjay Raut said.Following Sanjay Raut’s MVA exit remark, the NCP and the Congress held separate party meetings and later said they will remain with the MVA and Thackeray till the very end, and if the situation arose, would be prepared to sit in the opposition benches.The sudden calamity that gripped it late on the night of June 20-21 has shaken the once aggressive Sena to the core amid gloomy prophecies that this could be “swan song” for the party plus the second and third generation Thackerays – CM Uddhav Thackeray and his son and state minister Aditya Thackeray.
